Fort Lauderale, Florida... Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida has just signed a bill which is slated to become law on July 1st, 2010. This bill caps Florida tax on yacht sales to $18.000.00.
The bill is part of the larger, jobs for Florida bill and a huge welcome mat, to you, the prospective yacht buyer. It will also encourage yacht owners to keep there boats in florida, verses taking them to one of our nearby coastal states after purchase, with a more attractive tax offering.
The use tax component of this bill, could also allow owners of foreign flagged vessels, to pay the $18.000.00 fee, satisfy the pertinent state and federal requirements, and register their boat here in Florida. These are giant step in the right direction for the huge florida boating industry.
